Welcome to the official Lewis Edmundson Appeal website. This site’s here to help a little boy who has a rather unusual tale to tell.

Lewis Edmundson is nine years old, and lives near Blackpool in Lancashire. He has been diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 2, an exceedingly rare genetic condition that causes tumors to grow throughout the central nervous system and on the cranial nerves. Unfortunately Lewis has grown a tumor on his carotid artery (the main blood flow to his brain). So far Lewis is the only child in the world to have grown a tumor in such a complex position. Lewis now has seven internal tumours including an inoperable one on his carotid artery.

But there’s hope. Lewis’ family are working hard to give their son the best chance for the future. As his condition becomes ever more serious, they’re giving everything up so that Lewis has as much fun as possible, while he can. They’re also doing everything in their power to find some kind of treatment, no matter how far they may have to travel, to try and combat the spread of this disease and also to try and stop these tumours causing more damage.
